WHAT IS THE ENNEAGRAM?
The enneagram is a nine pointed star polygon. Within its circle is an equilateral triangle which connects the points 9, 3 and 6. On the outside another web-like figure connects the points 142857. These points are said to represent the main stages of any complete process and can be related to the notes of a musical octave with 9 being equivalent to "do."
The first time word of this enneagram came out was in a book called "In search of the miraculous" by Ouspensky. In his book, Gurdieff, who revealed this star polygon said "the knowledge of the enneagram has been for very long preserved in secret and if it is available to all, it is only in an incomplete and theoretical form without instruction of a man who knows." That's about where it has been until I started studying it and realized some amazing things about it. It definitely contains a wealth of information that has not been discovered. It basically is the geometry and numerology of math itself and the universe. And an important part of the philosophy I propose.

MATHEMATICAL MEANING
We'll start out with the mathematical meaning of this star polygon. (like I said in my other blog, The rule of opposites, there are both a mathematical and symbolic meaning to star polygons. The numbers 3, 6 and 9 form an equilateral triangle in the center. These are masculine numbers (please read my blog called Feminine and masculine.). They are also the triangular numbers. If you see, the triangle in a symbolic sense also looks like a "penis" or point. These three numbers also are derived from the fact that 1/3=.333333333..., 2/3=.66666666......, and 3/3=.99999999.... Remember that .999999999... is exactly one. You can check this out here.

The web-like figure on the enneagram correspond to the numbers 142857. These are the feminine numbers. As you see, the web resembles a vagina. These numbers are from sevenths. 1/7=.1428571...., 2/7=.2857142..... and so on. All 7ths have the repeating decimal 142857 in it. Even the biblical number of the beast 666 divided by 777=.857142.

The triangular numbers are masculine and represent the unmoving unchanging rigid laws of the universe and the unseen workings of it. The septimal numbers are feminine and represent the dynamic and changing parts of the universe and perceivable part. The triangular numbers represent the geometry of the universe while the septimals represent harmony--vibrations or waves--of the universe.
Also, as seen below. The enneagram shows the law of nine. In the future, I am going to write an article just on the number nine. In the meantime, I'll let you in on some things. The number 9 represents the union of all things--both 7 and 3. When we make a decimal list of sevenths and thirds the last numbers are 3/3 and 7/7, which both =.9999999... It is the beginning and the end. It represents the creative force also in the tree of life. All things culminate to 9. It even represents the designer of the universe itself (I will explain more in my next article). As you see, all numbers come back to 9 in some way or form.

7 is feminine and is equal to the number of tones there are in a musical scale. There are only 7 tones or vibrations in the universe and they are 1-do, 2 re, 3 mi, 4 fa, 5 sol, 6 la, and 7 si. Then it goes back to do but 1 scale higher. So there are just seven notes or vibrations in the universe. All things in the universe make harmony. All vibrations and waves can be translated to notes. The earth's daily rotation of once every 24 hours is equivalent to the note "mi". Plus as I have explained in All things in the universe are light. Everything perceivable in the universe is a wave, and therefore, corresponds to a musical note.
So you might wonder why there are no tones on the numbers 3 and 6. It is because they represent unperceivable phenomena while the septimal numbers represent the perceivable workings of the universe. The triangular numbers exist, kind of like imaginary numbers in math, but physically don't exhibit themselves. They can be used to calculate things and know unseen forces which exist: Nevertheless, they are the cause physical events.
Although 9 is a triangular number, it exhibits itself physically, at least partially, because it is the union and termination of the septimals and thirds and, therefore, has a physical and non-physical expression. Not only this but it is the union and termination of the feminine and masculine and so is both. 9 represents the universe and means that it is both masculine and feminine at the same time, plus it has a perceivable and unperceivable expression.
Although 9 is a triangular number, it exhibits itself physically, at least partially, because it is the union and termination of the septimals and thirds and, therefore, has a physical and non-physical expression. Not only this but it is the union and termination of the feminine and masculine and so is both. 9 represents the universe and means that it is both masculine and feminine at the same time, plus it has a perceivable and unperceivable expression.
This is where we can see that the base of the universe is geometry and vibrations (musical melodies). This also implies the law of cycles or scales. Life is a scale in universal terms. Each life we live is either a scale up or a scale down depending on our evolution or devolution. And each stage in our life or the life of anything is divided into 7 tones or parts. All things also have their divisions in three also.
SYMBOLIC MEANING
As seen, in the tree of life below, Nine, sits right where the reproductive organs of a human being would be. The tree of life has a structure related to the human body. Thus, nine is the creative and reproductive force in the universe.

So we see that in the enneagram there is an equilateral triangle that connects the triangular numbers 3, 6, and 9. 9 connects everything together and also represents the beginning and the end of cycles. Like I said before in my blog, The rule of opposites, star polygons not only represent mathematical information but symbolic information as well. The equilateral triangle also appears in the hexagram and has a point on top which corresponds to 9. 9 also symbolically means the creator or the "eye that sees all" or the designer of the universe. These are two common triangles in both the hexagram and the enneagram. We can see this in the pyramid on the back of the U.S. dollar bill. See figure below.

We can see in the above figure that the all seeing eye on top of the pyramid corresponds exactly to the same place as the number 9
occurs. Also we can see that 3 and 6 are the base of the number 9 and that 3+6=9. This to me is also further evidence that 9 represents the "all seeing eye" and the creative force of the universe. This triangle, in past societies, appears to have helped deduce the name of the designer. This can be seen below.
 
It is interesting to note that these letters add up to 72, and as we can see in the enneagram 7+2=9
The Pythagoreans attached the highest importance to the Tetraktys of ten dots, for the “discerning mind” it revealed the mystery of universal nature. By connecting the dots of the Tetraktys nine triangles are formed. Six of these are involved in the forming of the cube. The same triangles, when lines are properly drawn between them, also reveal the Six-Pointed Star with a dot in the center. Only seven dots are used in forming the cube and the star. Kabbalistically, the three unused corner dots represent the threefold, invisible, causal universe, while the seven dots involved in the cube and the star are Elohim
